Protect those Peepers.

I recently purchased a pair of Retro Baby Banz sunglasses for Moony. I had been looking for a pair of white framed baby sunglasses when I stumbled upon these. They rock! I wanted to get something unique. They are retro style and oh so cute! You can get a pair here on their website.

Wow, what a day...

I'm usually not a fan of hot weather, but I must say that it was absolutely gorgeous out! 80 degrees in March is pretty crazy! Took advantage of the nice weather and had lunch with the hubby outside of the Easton Historical Society while Moony snoozed the day away.
After lunch we drove to a nearby cemetery and took a stroll with the baby. I'm a fan of exploring different cemeteries. There's just something about them...they're peaceful. Here's a pic of my kickass baby mobile at the cemetery. Love it or hate it, but I love my Cube! hehehe

We came home from our outing and had an ice cold beer, Sam Adams Whitewater IPA...yum!

P.S. I also posted the ring I finished yesterday on Etsy.

Skulls, Swarovski and a Stuffy Nose

My baby girl has a cold. It breaks my heart. All I can do is try to make her as comfortable as possible, but I still feel helpless. I hate using the nasal aspirator on her, especially when she's already in a fussy mood. When she's not crying I try to make a game out of it with her. I tell her I'm hunting the boogie monster and I ask her which cave he's hiding in. I then rush in and try to suction out that little monster and if I don't get him the first time, I tell her that I need to go back in and get him or that he must be hiding in the other cave. Sometimes she doesn't seem to mind it, and it has actually produced a smile every now and then.

I've been trying to get her to rest a lot today, hoping that sleeping will help her fight off this cold. During one of her naps, I was able to complete a ring that I had been working on before little Moony arrived. It's different than the other skull rings I have made in the past. It features two skulls with red Swarovski rhinestone eyes. Hopefully, if I have time tomorrow, I can take some more photos in natural light and post it for sale on Etsy.

Time for...wait...what time is it?!

Time has never flown by so quickly. It's ridiculous. Everyday I keep on telling myself that I'm going to set some time aside while Moony is sleeping to work on making new items to sell in my Etsy shop, She Lost It. Here it is, almost 7 weeks later and I have not worked on anything! After the diaper changes, feedings, entertaining, holding, consoling, burping, laundry, and taking care of two very dependent cats, it's 5pm and time to start dinner. I guess I need to fight through my tiredness at night and give myself some time to create new goodies. In the meantime, I think it's time to take Moony outside. It's the first day of Spring and it looks beautiful out. Plus, we could both use some fresh air.

P.S. I had to take a trip out to Target last night and browsed the clearance section of the girl clothes before I left. I found the hoodie that I posted about yesterday in size 9 months (for only $14!), so I bought it! Yay!

Pink, pink, and more pink. Princess or Ballerina?

Who decided that pink is for girls and blue is for boys?!? Am I the only one who gets slightly annoyed by the clothing options out there for little girls? The girl section is always a sea of pastels with bits of bright color here and there, garments adorned with the word "Princess" with images of princess crowns, flowers or ballerinas. Majority of the options out there suggest that my daughter is either a Princess, a ballerina, or a future florist. Also, why must the majority of the socks out there look like ballerina slippers or little dress shoes?  I know they are just clothes and they are just babies, but where are the kickass clothes for kickass babies?

I love the Harajuku Mini line by Gwen Stefani at Target. I was anxiously awaiting when my little Moony would be able to fit into the smallest size available (6 months), but on a recent trip to Target I found that there were hardly any items left and it was all on clearance! Makes me wonder if maybe they will be dropping the line (booooo!). I may have to order this hoodie online and put it away for her when she gets bigger...it rocks!

Beer...I missed you!

Last night I had a date night with the hubby while my in-laws watched Lil Moony. Even though it feels great to get out of the house and have an adult conversation (instead of talking in an extremely high pitched voice and making faces), I always feel bad dropping her off. She's in good hands, but I just miss her as soon as I leave. We did have a great time last night though, even if it only consisted of going out to eat and then walking aimlessly around Target, laughing about silly things and walking out of the store buying absolutely nothing.

One of the things that I missed the most during pregnancy was beer! I'm a lover of craft brews and giving up on enjoying new local drafts was a difficult task. When going out to eat, I would find myself asking hubby if I could just smell his beer. I would breathe in the aromas and just imagine how tasty it would be. I survived 42 weeks without the liquid deliciousness and for my valiant efforts of 30+ hours of labor, I believe I definitely deserved to indulge myself and enjoy a cold brew. Last night with dinner I had a Wachusett Quinn's Amber Ale. It was...delicious. Without beer for so long I had become a beer virgin!

On another note, Moony slept the whole night! I went to bed around midnight and put her in the bassinet. Next thing I know, it's 7:15 in the morning! Yay! It's going to be a beautiful day today. Enjoying my morning coffee while hubby plays Actraiser on the Wii and Moony relaxes in her swing. Hoping to get out of the house at a decent time today and spend some quality family time outside.

To the Moon and Back

Just six short weeks ago I met an amazing little individual, who filled my heart with a love like I have never felt before. My daughter welcomed the world with a wide-eyed gaze, and when our eyes met I was head over heels in love. I'm a crafty individual, and she is definitely my best work to date. Her arrival has inspired me to begin writing about my experiences on this new adventure called Mommyhood, while trying to stay true to myself (a rockin' crafty gal), and hoping to save my sanity along the way.

Therefore, I dedicate this blog to my amazing little girl. Her middle name is Moon, and she lights up my world with her smile.

Lil Miss Moon...I love you to the moon and back.
